Change category default sort order

Sort By Featured

Once you've merchandised a category, the sort order for products can be seen on the storefront when choosing the "Featured" sort order. 

Once you're happy, we recommend configuring the category or all categories to display in Featured sort order by default.  See BigCommerce's Sort Order documentation on how to achieve this.

Change default sort order store-wide

This setting will affect all categories that don't have a category-specific default product sort setting. To adjust this setting, go to Store Setup › Store Settings and click the Display tab.

Scroll down to the Category Settings section and locate the Default Product Sort setting. Change it to Featured and then Save your changes.

Change default sort order for a specific category

This setting will affect only an individual category's default product sort. Other categories will inherit the storewide setting. To adjust this setting, go to Products › Product Categories and edit your chosen category.

In the category details, locate the Default Product Sort setting. Change it to Featured then Save your changes.
