Importing alert requests
Sometimes you may want to import customer alert requests, for example, when migrating from another back-in-stock alert app.
For this, we provide an import feature that allows you to upload a .csv
spreadsheet and map spreadsheet columns to field types.
You should only import emails from customers who have consented to receive back-in-stock alerts.
To start a new import, go to View all Alert Requests, and choose Import from the "..." action dropdown in the header.
Then, list out the spreadsheet column headings and map them to a property within the Back in Stock Alerts app.
At a minimum, the app requires:
- Email address
- BigCommerce product ID
If the alert requests are for products with variants, then we also require the BigCommerce product variant ID. This allows us to notify when a specific variant comes back in stock, e.g. Small Red T-shirt.
Other supported fields are:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Channel ID or Channel Name
Once the fields are mapped, select the file and click Upload.
